Hip-Hop/Rap and R&B/Soul
A.k.a. Jessica (17)
Jessica grew up in south side Chicago hoping to be a professional basketball player. After singing the National Anthem at a high school championship game, she decided to start her singing career. Shortly after, she signed to Warren G's G-Funk Music and Restless Records appearing on such soundtracks as Big Momma's House and Simply Irresistible. After releasing an unsuccessful solo album in 2000, released under her first name only, Jessica was dropped from the label and went back to the drawing board. She was fortunate enough to become a contestant on Missy Elliott's reality show Road To Stardom in 2005, and eventually ended up winning the competition. This did not lead to the success that she was hoping for, and her solo album was released only in Japan in 2008. Jessica has been recording independently ever since.
