Jim And The Povolos started in 2011 as a light-hearted side project for various members of musical theatre company Team StarKid (See StarKid (2)). The group first performed live as an opening act for their friend Charlene Kaye. Later that same year, they released their first EP "The Holiday Club", and joined StarKid on their first national tour as a 'supporting' artist. The group was named after fellow actor Jim Povolo, but Povolo himself is not a member.
