Single UK 2008 on Alt.Vinyl label
Electronic and Spoken Word (Abstract, Speech, Field Recording)
'Last 30mins' consists of sound fragments taken from the last Iraq Radio broadcasts to be picked up by receivers in the UK before radio signals were jammed by coalition forces in April 2003. The work was originally presented at the Centre For Contemporary Art, Glasgow, in January 2004 as a generative multi-speaker sound installation. "In the process of making the "Last 30mins" we aimed to create a meditative work that allows the richness and variety of the original material to speak: the representations and reflections on everyday life; the media intrusions and banalities; and what we know of the troubling undertow of political activity." This stereo version of "Last 30mins" has been specially remixed for this limited edition 11" lathe-cut. Manufactured in New Zealand. Hand-numbered edition of 100 in stickered thick poly sleeves.
