Musician / Composer of Jazz, Folk and World
Jim Scott is an American guitarist and composer, probably best known for his work as a member of The Paul Winter Consort. Scott was co-composer of the Consort's choral work, "Missa Gaia/Earth Mass" (1982) and recorded “A Concert for the Earth” (1985) in the Great Hall of the United Nations. While a member of the Consort, Scott also wrote several PBS soundtracks and composed and arranged an entire concert for the group with the Indianapolis Symphony. Scott formed the group Radiance with fellow Consort veterans oboist Nancy Rumbel, cellists David Darling and Eugene Friesen. He has also released solo albums and published a book on guitar technique.
