Single UK 1992 on BBC label
Spoken Word (Promotional)
Limited official pressing by BBC as part of a 1992 exhibition featuring two vintage radio jingles from 1967. The Kenny Everett jingle/promotional trailer was made for the revamped "BBC Light Programme", that eventually became BBC Radio 2 in 1967. This features the voice and rapid tape editing of Kenny Everett who utilized speeded-up snippets of old radio themes and concluding with a short (and remixed) version of The Beatles "Strawberry Fields Forever". Specific detail: In 1992 the BBC held an exhibition in Broadcasting House (the historical home of the BBC) to celebrate its 70th anniversary. As part of this exhibition were a few jukeboxes which contained selections of themes and radio excerpts for the public to select from. This particular record was pressed-up exclusively for use in these jukeboxes at this exhibition and was never for public sale. Some copies were given away to BBC employees. One such former employee stated that the BBC "typically pressed-up no more than two dozen of such records" - thus this is an extremely limited pressing and currently only one copy is known to exist.
