James S. Hodges Born May 24, 1885 in New York City, New York, USA Died April 4, 1971 in Riverside, California, USA Songwriter ("Dear old Girl of Mine"), composer, author, producer and publisher, a high-school graduate who then appeared in Liberty Theatres during World War I and produced his own shows. During World War II he entertained in hospitals, camps and the USo. Joining ASCAP in 1951, his other popular-song composiions include "Some Day You'll Want Me to Want You", "It Wasn't In the Cards", "Lonely Nights", "Blackberry Jelly Nellie", and "Ding Dong Bell".
