Songwriter, guitarist and vocalist (First Tenor) with the African American singing group The Cats And The Fiddle. In 1940, their first hit came with the song "I Miss You So", a mid-tempo ballad penned by Jimmie. He died from meningitis shortly after the single was released. It became his best known song, recorded by numerous other artists.
