American jazz drummer, not to be confused with other Jimmy Campbells, especially composer James Campbell (often credited as Jimmy Campbell !). Born December 24, 1928, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Died : March 27, 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He passed away at age 69. He died of respiratory failure, attributed to a three-pack-a-day cigarette habit that four lasted for over decades.
