b. Aug. 24, 1939, El Reno, Oklahoma d. Aug. 28, 2009, Paris, Tennessee American rockabilly singer, songwriter and guitarist. Jimmy Gray began his musical career in Arizona. Performed with the Missels and frequently recorded with Duane Eddy and co-wrote songs with Donnie Owens. Played in the Waylon Jennings' original band The Waylors and was a member of Townes Van Zandt's band.
