Singer, guitarist, arranger from Ivory Coast, born in Treichville, Abidjan, died on the 19th of march, 1991. He modernized "Goly", a traditional Ivorian rhythm. Named after Jimi (Hendrix), he was enthralled by the artist, discovers his passion for guitar when his elder brother comes home with a gift. When the whole country is vibing after Soukous music, Jimmy is after Hendrix, James Brown's sound, and develops a particular string pinching technic. Soon joins the Bouaké orchestra Aboliba Jazz, and reaches a professional level with Comoé sisters, becoming the youngest professional guitarist of his country. Tours Africa with M'bam Jazz Orchestra before being part of Anouma Brou Felix's band. Jimmy leaves to Europe and puts together Bozambo, while releasing african inspired tracks such as "Maquis Lôh" and Néké Néké. A few years after, he comes back to Ivory Coast becoming the artistic director of "La Société Ivoirienne de l’Industrie du Son".
