A.k.a. James Eugene Johnson
American producer, songwriter and musician born October 26, 1942 in Torrance, California. Based in Shreveport, Louisiana. He started "The Peermonts" in 1965 and the group stayed together until 1975. He operated the Peermont Recording Studio from 1973 until 1985 and created the Shreve Sound Recording from 1985 until 1993. Recorded most local groups such as: The Crawdads, The Convertibles, The Otis Wheat Band, Seaman and Sands Band, Bud Christian and Home Made Jam, Jeff Spence Trio, Cass and Company, Louisiana Hayride Band, Betty Lewis and the Executives, New Dawn Trio, Don Mason and Billy (Billy J) & Donnie Morris and worked with a few big names: James Burton, Joe Osborne, Ry Cooder, Big Al Downing, David Houston, Danny Johnson, Micheal Garvin, Percy Sledge, Tilman Franks, Keith Carradine, The Drifters, Buck Owens and Dean Mathis (the New Beats). Inducted into the "Louisiana Hall Of Fame" in 2002.
