Jing Ma Fan began his musical studies at the Sichuan Conservatory and continued at Beijing's Central Conservatory. He came to international attention at Cardiff's 1987 "Singer of the World" competition. In 1990 Mr. Fan won first prize at the Opera Index Vocal in New York.
