Jiyu is a Copenhagen based producer team consisting of Elephant In The Room & Low Pressure. For some time they have sought freedom breaking barriers in music and their name “Jiyu” (Japanese word for“freedom”) has been a mantra during the creation of their debut EP. Their common vocation to get lost in their shared musical algorithm in search for track material between mistakes and musical blizzards has led them to hidden and rare treasures that combines their love for beats, jazz, soul, r&b and club music. They both play keys, bass and guitar, and swop between instruments as it suits them best. They met their future label mate in the backyard at their studio collective in the heart of Copenhagen. Low Pressure and PG actually know each other from back in the days when PG was manager for Blue Foundation. Back then Low Pressure worked under the alias of EMO. He was asked to team up with the band for some live shows and quickly EMO and PG shared mutual musical understanding. Elephant In The Room, found his cracks in the concrete of Amager south suburbia Copenhagen. After he heard his father yell “You are just as fat and ugly as an elephant in a glass house” in his grandmother's apartment after her funeral, he claimed his future producer name. Low Pressure Aka EMO used to record and tour as a singer with Dj Vadim (UK) as well as contributed as composer & singer to Vadims “The Soundcatcher” (BBE, 2007) He was deebly involved in the nujazz/downbeat scene in the beginning of the millennium with releases on such renowned labels as Stereo DeLuxe, Liquid Sound Lounge and Audio Pharm as well as been working with names such as Boozoo Bajou, Les Gamas, Kasio (Nu Spirit Helsinki). With Low Pressure he has released on Stella Polaris Music, Bitter Sweet samt Dubs & Extra Sweets and Dubsoul Records.
