João Lopes

Born in California in May 25, 1950, had his first experience in a stage was in 1972, by invitation of Ivo Rodrigues from Blindagem, one of the main rock bands of the state of Paraná, Brazil. Around 10 years later, João Lopes was made famous in the state by the song "Bicho do Paraná", used in a commercial ad from the Bamerindus bank in the 80s. This gave João Lopes a local celebrity status, and he was made an Honorary Citizen of Curitiba (the capital of the state of Paraná) in 2005. He also received other honors.
