Juan de la Cruz Fuster Ortells better known as Joan Fuster i Ortells (Sueca, Valencia, November 23, 1922 - June 21, 1992) was a Spanish writer in Catalan, key contemporary Valencian nationalism figure in the definition of so-called Països Catalans (Catalan Countries ). Most influential work possibly was the "Nosaltres, els valencians" (We, the Valencians, 1962) trial. His research and editorial work covers various aspects and fields of knowledge including linguistics, history and philosophy. It is considered the most important twentieth-century Catalan essayist.
