Born on June 15, 1950 in the city of Sapé, in the State of Paraiba, Brazil. Died on March 11, 2015, aged 64, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Composer and accordion player, recorded with Jackson do Pandeiro, Zé Ramalho, Chico Buarque, Milton Nascimento, Elba Ramalho, Alceu Valença and Paul Simon, among others. He wrote 180 songs and released 11 albums as a leader, such as ‘No Forró Eu e Ela’ (1986) e ‘Machucando Gostosinho’ (1987), both for EMI, and ‘Forró Rasgado’ (2000), for the Atração Fonográfica label.
