Job Zomer

cl,
Jazz

Job Zomer (1939 - 20 juli 2006) was founder of the Munich Records label. In 1972, he bought a record shop / distribution centre called "Munnickendam Groothandel" in Amsterdam and turned it into Munich Records, an independent record label and distributor. For the label's name, Zomer was inspired by the Olympic Games taking place in Munich that year: all people united in peace. While these Olympic Games ended in tragedy, the label grew with diversity - jazz, roots, reggae, blues, world, dance, singer-songwriter. Job Zomer also set up the Stoof label. He produced a lot of records for both labels.
