Joe Buckner was out of music for a while after the last Tommy Dean (4) session, playing professional baseball and working on and off for the Post Office. Around 1960-1961, he led a band in St. Louis consisting of himself on piano and vocals, Fred Lee (who had played tenor sax on Tommy Dean's last two sessions), Buck Underwood (who had played bass on Tommy Dean's first session), and Virgil Watson (drums).
