Album US 1950 on CIO Research & Education Dept. label
Folk (Folk)
Historically important album contains the first recording of "We Will Overcome" that would become the civil rights anthem with the slight change to "We Shall Overcome." 2 12" 78 rpm discs in gatefold-type folder. Album sometimes known as "8 New Songs For Labor" and "Eight New Songs For Labor" because of the 8 on the cover, but those are probably incorrect because the 8 does not appear on the record labels or in advertising literature.
