Joel was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up in New York City. Now is established in Stockholm, Sweden after many years of residing in Finland and Estonia. Joel began his singing career in bands such as Sax Appeal, X-Plode, Music for Living and now lately De Luna Band (BluesRock) and El Dominicano (Latin). Hes been on tour as the opening act for Alphaville, East 17, The Prodigy and Faithless amongst others. Joel won the New Artist of the Year Award in 1997, Peoples Choice Award in 1999, and he was nominated to the Best Gospel vocalist in 2008. Currently singing with his band DeLuna.
