The band also included Bo Wagner on lead vocals, Sputzy Sparacino, Ernie Pontiere (who would then play as Sputzy's trombonist, percussionist, and third keyboardist in Gigolo back in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Then after Four Coins disbanded in 1979, Joey would then leave to join Sputzy and play bass in his very first Popular Pittsburgh R&B/Dance/Cover band, Gigolo in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1980. The band played from 1980 till 1990.The other members of Gigolo included Ray DeLisio on keyboards, Armand De Genova on co-keyboards, Ernie Pontiere on trombone, percussions, and keyboards, and Larry McClusky on drums and percussions. Then after Larry's departure from Gigolo in 1983, he was replaced by Ron Orrico. Then Mark Matteo would come in to join the band as the lead guitarist while Gary Carolla would come in to take Armand De Genova's place as the new co-keyboaridst. And Sputzy would then leave Gigolo to join the R&B/Dance/Cover band, Modern Man from 1984 till 1990. While Gigolo ended up being on the hiatus. The members of Modern Man included Buddy Hall on lead guitar, Tommy Bellin on bass, Talmadge Pearsall on keyboards and co-lead vocals, and Jim Blazer on co-keyboards and programmed drums. They did top 40 music, some original songs, and a lot of R&B song covers in bars, dance halls, private events, and at music festivals. They even did some great Teddy Pendergrass song covers. Then Joey would come in to take Tommy Bellin's place as the new bassist of Modern Man in 1988. While Mark Matteo would come in to take Buddy Hall's place as the new lead guitarist, Gary Carolla would come in to take Jim Blazer's place as the new co-keyboardist. Gary Carolla would come in to take Jim Blazer's place as the co-keyboardist, and then Tom Tornow would come in to play drums and percussions. And that was the very first time when Modern Man finally had a drummer at last. The band released two albums and they had national dance chart success. Then Joey would play bass for one of Sputzy's song covers of The Buckingham's "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" and Aretha Franklin's "See Saw" on Sputzy's solo artist album "Too Much Too Soon" in August 17, 1994. Then years before his death, he also performed and produced music with Grand Funk Railroad, Nation bands, 'N Sync, Aaron Carter, Let's Be Frank, Walt Maddox and produced music for his children's programs.
