Johan Lindquist studied Law at Uppsala University. When he wasn’t studying or working as a bartender he was deeply involved with the local hip-hop and reggae scene. Johan Lindquist joined Universal Music AB in 2001 as a Product Manager, responsible for Interscope, Geffen, A&M and Polydor releases in Sweden. Johan was very early on and responsible for breaking 50 Cent and Black Eyed Peas, among other big international acts in the Swedish market. He moved up as a Marketing Manager for the entire American repertoire and took part in Lady Gaga’s Swedish breakthrough, the first market in the world to be conquered by the pop sensation. In 2009 Johan was Project Manager for Veronica Maggio’s breaking album "Och Vinnaren Är…”. During the same year, he made a deal with the label Pope. Together with Mikael Wadström and Claes Uggla they released the multiplatinum single "Svennebanan" by Promoe and signed successful artists such as Ken Ring, Nause and Maskinen. In 2010 he became an A&R Manager and signed successful artists such as Oskar Linnros, who had a huge success with his debut solo album “Vilja Bli”. Johan also signed the Swedish rap/reggae group Labyrint, rap/pop duo Norlie & KKV and worked as a Project Leader for the success album “Satan I Gatan” with Veronica Maggio. On his initiative in 2012, he teamed up with Mikael Wadström and Christoffer Silverberg to create the successful Universal Music-label Svenska Inspelningar. The main focus is contemporary music such as House, Hip-hop, Reggae and Swedish pop. The label soon signed Dada Life and Rebecca & Fiona for the world, as well as some of the most successful artists in Sweden. During the labels first year, Johan made a joint venture deal between Universal Music AB and the Swedish hip-hop label Redline Recordings with signed artists Aki, Carlito and Stor. Later on they signed artists Allyawan, Amsie Brown, Dani M, Linda Pira and Mohammed Ali.
