Recorded live at the Barbican Centre, London, August 7-12, 2007. Recording facilities: Teldex Studio Berlin. Libretto adapted from the Indian folktale and poetry in translations by A.K. Ramanujan. A Flowering Tree was commissioned by New Crowned Hope (Vienna), San Francisco Symphony, Barbican Centre (London), Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (New York), and the Berliner Philharmoniker. First performance: November 14, 2006, New Crowned Hope Festival, Museumsquartier, Vienna, Austria.
