voc, g, 1941-2006 US, Hampton, Virginia
Singer / Musician / Songwriter of World, Folk and Rock
John Bassette (December 28, 1941 – November 9, 2006) was a folk singer/songwriter, poet and cable television personality in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio, United States, area. He was born in Hampton, Virginia, USA. He was close friends and occasional collaborator with Alex Bevan, David Krauss (Tiny Alice/Blue Drivers), and Charlie Wiener. NB: A significant number of John Bassette's self-released albums that turn up for re-sale (including ones that are semi-sealed) are water damaged suggesting that Bassette's own stock was somehow damaged at one point. Usually while the covers are damaged the LPs are in much better shape.
