Musician / Producer of Reggae
A.k.a. Sir Rafael
John "Raff" Allen is a Jamaican Keyboards player and Producer from Brooklyn NY, member of Monyaka. During the late 70s and early 80s they were the most requested Backing Band by the Jamaican Artists in US. In 1982 they assisted with the construction of Philip Smart's new studio HC&F Studio and tested out the equipment. The first recording made at HC&F was Go Deh Yaka (Go To The Top), a worldwide crossover hit. Then since the mid 80s, with the Digital Revolution which used the raw Computerized instrumentals, Raff did intensive studio work to compose and produce most of the Reggae Digital-Dancehall productions from that era.
