Barton Bishoff is a San Francisco-based filmmaker and musician. In 2010, he founded DoF Media LLC in San Francisco, a company which produces documentary films. Barton collaborated with KTF Films to produce Theory of Obscurity, a music documentary that premiered in 2015 at South by Southwest/SXSW in Austin, Texas. Recently, Barton was one of the cinematographers who worked with KTF Films on the film Batkid Begins. For NBC News (BayArea) in San Francisco, Barton wrote and produced special feature stories and directed Tech Now!, a syndicated news magazine show about Silicon Valley. A 5-year stint at Yahoo! Inc. followed where Bishoff produced video content and worked with broadcast outlets, facilitating stories about the company. Bishoff's career in broadcast journalism has been recognized with 9 Emmy Awards, 18 Emmy nominations, over 20 Associated Press Awards, RTNDA awards, and the Edward R. Murrow award for Best Documentary as the director of "Close to Home," a film about 9/11. As a guitarist and pianist, Barton has performed and recorded with such artists as Tiny Little Blackouts, Anthony Koutsos of Sun Kil Moon, Miles Nielsen, Harlan Jefferson, The Snaggs, Kelly Steward, Erik Applegate, The Famous, The Moonlight Jazz Orchestra, Jeremy Buck and the Bang, The Gomows, and Bun E. Carlos and Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick.
