Musician of Classical
He studied piano from the age of 4 years. After his studies in classical High School (he wanted to become a doctor), he finally decided to devote himself to music. On the advice of his piano teacher in Maastricht , Walter Kauffmann - himself a brilliant student of Artur Schnabel - he went to Paris where he met the pianist Monique Haas , who recommended him to go work with Mrs. Yvonne Lefebure. Under his leadership he earned with honors diploma from Conservatoire de Paris and the concert degree at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris , the jury is chaired by Alfred Cortot . After his first concert with orchestra at Maastricht under the direction of André Rieu (father of violinist), he was invited to play with the Ensemble orchestral de Paris Concerto in G major by Maurice Ravel, under the direction of Gaston Poulet . Soon after, he made his first appearance on French television. At the Opéra Garnier , to mark the sesquicentennial of the birth of Chopin , he participated in the reconstruction of the first recital given by Chopin in Paris. In 1956-1958 and 1959, respectively won the second Grand Prix at international competitions in Geneva , Naples and Paris . These awards were followed by a series of concerts and recitals in many countries. He played the 5th Concerto for piano and orchestra by Beethoven under the direction of Mario Rossi at Teatro San Carlo in Naples. With the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, he was a soloist in the Concerto for piano and orchestra by Schumann under the direction of Eugen Jochum . In The Hague , he gave numerous concerts with the Residence Orchestra, under the direction of Willem van Otterloo . Meanwhile the Beethoven medal is awarded to him by the Harriet Cohen International Music Award (en) . John Blot played in England, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland under the direction of chefs such as Eugen Jochum , Erich Leinsdorf , Mario Rossi, Willem van Otterloo, Gaston Poulet etc. He also taught at the Music Conservatory of Maastricht in the Netherlands. He now lives in France near Paris.
