b. 1 April 1916, Vancouver, Canada; d. 30 October 1966 Canadian actor and television presenter. Father of journalist-broadcaster Bronwyn Drainie. Noted for voicing the character modelled after Joseph McCarthy in the 1954 Canadian Broadcasting Corporation radio play The Investigator.
