Singer / Musician of Pop

(1877 - 1949) Early American cylinder and disc recording vocalist (bass). Sang bass in the Peerless Quartet with Albert Campbell (2), Henry Burr and Arthur Collins from 1910-1918, then baritone in the quartet with Campbell, Burr and Frank Croxton from 1918-1925. Also sang with Campbell and Burr as The Sterling Trio. He was a member of the "Eight Popular Victor Artists", a touring ensemble Victor created to promote its recordings.
