John Horton

1905-1989. British musicologist who spent part of his early career teaching, ultimately to take charge of BBC schools music broadcasting. He was later appointed H.M. Inspector for schools and Staff Inspector of Music to the Department of Education and Science. He was a specialist on Scandinavian music and published books about various 19th century composers.
