Cleveland native and Berklee College of Music assistant chairman of music business/management John Kellogg was the lawyer for The O'Jays for nearly 25 years and represented the late Gerald Levert his entire career, besides Eddie Levert, Levert, LSG, G-Dep, and Stat Quo. Before attending law school, Kellogg recorded and performed with the group Cameo. His book, "Take Care of Your Music Business: The Legal and Business Aspects You Need to Know to Grow in the Music Industry," is recommended for law students and lawyers who are new to entertainment law. He is also a member of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association Hall of Fame; the parent organization is in Fort Washington, Md., member of the board of directors of the Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Association (MEIEA), and entertainment attorney in the states of New York and Ohio.
