A.k.a. John L Sayers
Australian recording engineer, producer and studio designer. Originally from New Zealand, Sayers began his career as a musician and moved to Australia in 1966 playing keyboards for the Toowoomba band The Defenders. He began his recording career with Natec Studios in Sydney, before moving on to Armstrongs Studios and then T.C.S. Studios in Melbourne, Festival Studios in Sydney, and then Trafalgar Studios in Sydney in partnership with Charles Fisher Music Farm - Byron Bay. In 1977, Sayers rebuilt the Trafalgar control room, before moving to Byron Bay to set up Music Farm Studios. He later returned to Sydney and moved into television production, then to Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, to lecture and design the studios at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, and become a studio design consultant. In the mid 90s he returned to Byron Bay and music production. Since then he has gone on to design and refurbish numerous studios including BPro Productions - Dubai, ANU Music Studios - Canberra, ff Studio - Taiwan, Rose Lane - California, Wasteland - Fremantle, The Refinery - Melbourne, Soultrax - India.
