British vocalist, guitarist, keyboard, and fiddle player. Began his career as a member of the synth-pop new romantic act, the Mobiles. On their demise in 1984, he continued working as a musician, and in the late-1980s he joined the rock act, Bonham. During his career he has also worked with Paul Rodgers, Rod Stewart, and Steve Lukather, amongst others. He is the brother of, and several times a fellow band member with, Eddie Smithson.
