Singer of R&B/Soul
A.k.a. John P. DiBucci
White soul singer from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He had previously recorded for the Parkway and Jomada labels (where he enjoyed minor success with the single "Marry Me"), before being brought to Stax records by none other than Otis Redding. Says Stax producer - songwriter Steve Cropper of Daye: "The kid was dynamite. Otis really wanted to do a lot with him. Had Otis lived he probably would have." He released two singles for Stax, "What'll I Do For Satisfaction" (remade several years later by Janet Jackson as "What'll I Do") and "Stay Baby Stay" (which is widely regarded as a classic among soul enthusiasts).
