Well, you need it! Unity! Someday I would like to see Monk Scholars in all U.S. music institutions. Unfortunately, as long as racism and other forms of oppression exist in U.S. music institutions as well as capitalism in the U.S., Monk and the myriad of other great American artists will continue to be ignored. Goodbye Monk and the rest. You left all of us an example. Warmly, Jon Jang Five Pieces for Piano and Goodbye Porkpie Hat/Giant Steps were recorded by Rob Lautz in November of 1979 at a live performance in Santa Cruz, California All other selections were recorded and mixed by John Altmann in February of 1982 at the John Altmann Recording Studios in San Francisco, California All selections were mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios, Berkeley, California Illustration/Design - Carone Lee Photography - George Selland !982, RPM Records, P.O.
