Dance
A.k.a. Jean-Philippe Plazas D.R.D
In the early 90's, Jón mainly composed music for underground computer movements such as Dreamdealers, and has been part of a commercial diffusion under TRSI Records in 1996. He then dedicates to Acousmatic music composing within Denis Dufour's class at French National Music School. His creations, performances and installation works are credited by an institutional award in 1999. His sense of sound design and collaborations with artists coming from various Medias, lead him to perform in prestigious art galleries, theaters and clubs in France, USA and Japan. Fortuitous meeting with international DJ Tom Pooks has drifted Jón Georgsson into decidedly more dancefloor productions than on his previous achievements. In 2004 he releases his new single “All The Way” under Fafa Monteco's label Hypnotic (with the exclusive remixes of Loudeast and Tom Pooks), followed up by the “DRD - Motoracer” track on HY:BR compilation House Invaderz which has been a hit. Each record is massively supported by big names such as Ralph Lawson, Chris Duckenfield, DJ Linus, Mazi, David Duriez, Jack De Marseille, Monika Kruse, Didier Sinclair... In 2006, he composed the original soundtrack for the Canadian short movie “A year minus a day” by Pierre Blaizeau and Murielle Freoa. He now lives in Japan and is booked since 2007 to perform in major Tokyo clubs such as Air, Module, Colors Studio, etc., with a Tech House live performance produced with the help of Neuromancie.
