Born in Long Beach, California, Jon O’Bergh grew up playing the piano. He graduated from the University of California at Irvine, where he studied piano performance and composition. Later, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he wrote songs for television and concert music. He’s experimental, expressive, and unbound by categories, exploring genres from rock to avant-garde, from world beat to jazz, from contemplative piano to Laurie Anderson-style storytelling.
