1938-2010 DK, Qassimiut

Greenlandic politician, priest and lyricist (1938-2010). In the 60's he put lyrics to two songs from Svend Erik Tarp's score to the 1956 film "Qivitoq". In the 70's he became leader of the Siumut party and a central figure in the struggle for Greenlandic home rule. In 1979 he became Greenlands first prime minister of the new home rule. He was prime minister (Landsstyreformand) two times, 1979-1991 and 1997-2002
