Musician of Jazz
Jorge Zamorano began playing the classical guitar at seven. His studies in jazz started at the University of Maryland, where he was the student director of the big band and the U of MD jazz combo. He transferred to the Manhattan School of Music, where he was one of three guitarists selected out of over four hundred applicants from around the world. He has performed with many artists around the world in many musical styles. Jorge is an active ASCAP member and part of the All-American Composers Library in New York City. He has written music for jingles and network television for the last 12 years. Those credits include Theraflu, Huggies, Coors Light, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, the Maury Povich show, Jerry Springer, Life Goes On, and the Jacksons Television Movie to name a few. Jorge moved to Oregon 8 years ago and continues to perform throughout the US with the world music/jazz trio Facing East. Facing East has included players such as Bela Fleck, Jack Dejohnette, Victor Wooten, Dave Pietro and Larry Coryell. Jorge is currently teaching at Beacock's Music Education Center in Vancouver, WA. Jorge and his wife, Cathy, started an audio/video production company last year, BZ Producers, LLC. In May 2000, Jorge produced a soccer video/clinic with Soccerplex manager John Bain. Jorge first recorded with Roger (unknowingly) on Renato Caranto's CD. The two met when Roger started recording the first Raindance CD in April, 2000. It was love at first sight. The two have formed a joyous union and are planning their third baby, Raindance III, expected to be born in early 2001
