Czech composer. Born 5 December 1909 in Vsetín, died 28 April 1962 in Hollywood, California, U.S.A. During the 1930s and 1940s he wrote music and songs for film and light operas. Emigrated in 1948 to West Germany where he worked at Radio Free Europe. In 1954 he moved to the U.S.
