A.k.a. Juan Pedro Blanco Rodriguez
Juan Blanco (1919, Mariel, Cuba - 2008, Havana, Cuba) has been a prolific composer, a teacher and the pionnering force around the development of electroacoustic music in Cuba. Blanco organized the first public concert with electroacoustic music at "Unión Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba" in 1964. He composed around 100 pieces using electroacoustic systems, also working extensively with spatial distribution of sound within large open spaces, and developing complex multimedia installations and spectacles.
