Juan is a Venezuelan-born pianist, composer and producer based in Los Angeles, CA. With a degree in Film Music Composition from Berklee College of Music, Juan was a 2010 and 2013 BMI Film & TV Award recipient for his work on the series Más sabe el Diablo and La Patrona for NBC/Telemundo Network and a Golden Award recipient at the Houston Film Festival in 2005 for his score for the film Reflejos. He started his 14-year music career working with Colombian superstar Shakira as a recording engineer on her Multi-Platinum album Laundry Service as well as working with the band Bacilos as a keyboard player and arranger on their Double Grammy Award-winning album Caraluna. He now focuses on composition for film and television. He recently finished scoring the 2nd season for Hulu’s top web TV series “East Los High” and is currently composing the score for the TV series “MATADOR”, both released this summer 2014.
