Texts in Spanish and English. --- The discs, book and booklet have been issued in conjunction with the exhibition "De Juan Hidalgo 1957-1997" organised by the Centro Atlántico De Arte Moderno in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and by the exhibition hall "La Recova" of the Ayuntamiento De Santa Cruz De Tenerife. Legal reference number / catalogue number for the discs: CD 1: M-12066-1997 CD 2: M-12067-1997 CD 3: M-12068-1997 --- Ukanga, Caurga, Ja-U-La, Palpiti (Latidos), Roma Dos Pianos, Zajrit, Letrilla and Aulaga 2 were recorded at Kiryos and Cinearte Studios in Madrid between January and March 1997. Kuutamo was recorded at Trak Studios in Madrid in September 1991. Rrose Sélavy was recorded by the composer as a multi-track version in 1975 at Studi Ricordi, Milano, and mixed at Regson, Milano. Offenes Trio was recorded live at the Rotonda del Pellegrini in Milan, 21st January 1959. Étude de Stage was created on magnetic tape at the Research Department of the ORTF (French Radiotelevision) in 1961. Tamaran was recorded by the composer as a multi-track version at Fono-Roma, Milan, in 1974. --- Ukanga (1957) for five instrumental groups: A (violin, trombone and bassoon), B (flute/piccolo, viola and tuba), C (tumpet, clarinet and double bass), D (Glockenspiel, celesta and vibraphone) and E (grand piano and prepared piano) Caurga (1958) for flute/piccolo, English horn, clarinet, bassoon, piano, violin, violoncello Ja-U-La (1964) for two violins, two violas, violoncello, flute, clarinet and large conga drum Palpiti (Latidos) (1984) for clarinet, piano, vibraphone, violin and violoncello Kuutamo (1961) for E flat clarinet, horn, violoncello and doublebass Roma Dos Pianos (1963) for two grand pianos and one or two pianists Zajrit (1983) for one percussionist Letrilla (1949) for soprano and piano Aulaga 2 (1964) for clarinet and piano Rrose Sélavy (1975) six pieces dampened for six sound sources Offenes Trio (1959) for flute, English horn, and bassoon Étude De Stage (1961) electronic piece on stereo magnetic tape Tamaran (1974) for twelve grand pianos, struck directly on the strings --- Rrose Sélavy was originally released on Cramps Records (CRSLP 6113) in 1976 Tamaran was originally released on Cramps Records (CRSLP 6102) in 1974 --- El Grupo Círculo included the following people at the time of this recording: Salvador Espasa, Flute; Carmen Guillem, Oboe; Salvador Vidal, Clarinet; Dominique Deguines, Bassoon; Pedro Estevan, Percussion; Adela González Campa, Piano; Rubén Fernández, Violin; María Teresa Gómez, Viola; Angel González Quiñones, Cello; Rosa María Molleda, Management; José Luis Temes, Conductor. There is no information available where each and every instrumentalist is playing on track 1-1 to 1-9.
