Juan José Bárcenas, born in 1982, studied Composition at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes in Mexico City and has worked as a freelance composer, video artist and sound designer since 2001. The main focus of his work falls on electronic and multi-media concepts. He has received grants and awards from the FONCA programme and the Seoul Computer Music Festival. He is a member of the experimental electronic ensemble “Colectivo Kaoss” and has taught computer music in Santiago de Querétaro since 2005.
