New Zealand pianist, arranger, teacher, and composer, born October 3, 1935 in Auckland, New Zealand. She has lived and worked in Australia since the 1960s, and has been a casual lecturer at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music since the 1970s. Bailey was inducted into the Australian Jazz Hall of Fame in May 2014. Don't confuse her with German musician Judy Bailey (2).
