Jughead
A.k.a. John Pierson Lena Bewes Smitty (9)
Jughead is the alias of John Pierson, guitarist and, along with Ben Weasel, co-founder of Screeching Weasel. John played with Screeching Weasel from 1986 through 2001, as well as the band's reunion shows in 2004, but was excluded from the band's 2009 resurrection. Following Screeching Weasel's demise in 2001, Jughead formed the acoustic pop-punk band Even In Blackouts, who existed until 2009. He is also an actor and playwright, performing with Chicago's Neo-Futurists group and writing plays under the name "Ian Pierce". He has authored a book, "Weasels in a Box", which was largely informed by his time in Screeching Weasel. Jughead was also the former co-owner of Panic Button Records.
