Simms is an American singer and songwriter, born 26 February 1986 in San Francisco, California, USA. She is the former lead singer of Automatic Loveletter and won second place as a contestant on the second season of The Voice in the US. After The Voice, Simms began working on her solo career and, aside from the covers produced from The Voice, released 4 singles, 1 album, and 1 EP. Coming off of the show, Simms released her single "Wild Child" in December 2012 and began to work on her first album that was set to release in 2013. This never happened as there were issues between Simms and her label. After no longer having a record label as a result of battling over her voice from Universal Records as they tried making her make music she didn't want to make, Simms crowd-funded her debut EP as a solo artist, All or Nothing, in 2014 and finally released it in 2015 after having to push back the release date. Simms went on to release her cover of Leonard Cohen's song "Hallelujah" just in time for the Christmas season. That was then followed by her second EP/album "From the Grave" in the summer of 2016. In 2017, Simms released a piano rendition of her song "My Last Whiskey Tears," which was a song from the 2016 release. Simms came back with a brand new single, "Take Me," in April 2018.
