Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, has become famous for its annual Oktoberfest which attracts thousands of fun-seeking visitors each year. For nine rollicking days and nights the twin cities (pop. about 150,000) go on a gigantic beer, sausage and oompah music binge. The good fellowship and friendly atmosphere that prevails during Oktoberfest is called "Gemütlichkeit", and this recording by the K-W Oktoberfest Gemütlichkeit band captures much of the fun, flavour and boisterous spirit of the big beer festival. A party always takes on more life when the guests join Herr Oktoberfest himself, Julius Rauchfuss, in singing these wonderful soul-stirring Bavarian songs. LPS 11671 on back cover.
