Rock/Synth-Pop Latvian band extremely popular during the 80's and 90's. Their songs being mostly written in Latvian, Jumprava's success has essentially remained bound to Latvia. However, their music has always been rather different from the other popular local bands. The band has always experimented a lot and tried to use different sources of sounds in their songs - be that coming from folk music, everyday life, or completely synthetic -, leading them sometimes to be called the "Latvian Depeche Mode".
