A.k.a. Junko Wada

Born in Tokyo, 1955, Junko Wada is a performance artist, dancer, and action painter. She studied painting at Musashino University of Art and had two solo exhibitions at Kamakura gallery in Tokyo in 1982 and 1983. Her interest in performance art intensified and she started to develop a personal style of dance, replacing screen and brush with body and stage. She has since collaborated with some of the worlds leading composers, and from 1999, has lived and worked in Berlin.
